About Hazel

Hazel by Design was founded organically in 2017, by two dear friends with complimenting skill sets in fashion and design.  Kara McAlhaney and Stephanie Guido had a vision that while feeling your best may include many different facets, the clothes you wear and spaces you surround yourself in play a major role.   It was through this vision that Hazel was born.

Stephanie has been surrounded by interior design for most of her life, having a mother who is in the business and a grandmother who made custom window treatments and bedding from her own shop. She loves design, has an eye for fabrics, furniture, textures and colors, and knows this doesn’t always have to come with a high price tag. She believes that home really is where the heart is and should be an oasis.  While she is an accountant by schooling and worked for a renowned Wall Street investment bank, she relishes in helping friends, family and clients create spaces that they love, marrying their individual styles and budgets.  Stephanie has taken on projects both residential and commercial, in cities from Atlanta, GA all the way to Vancouver, British Columbia.  

While life took Kara and Stephanie in different professional directions, Stephanie continues to design, helping her clients create spaces that provide a sense of calm in the midst of life’s chaos.
